Le Sauk Township Water Rescue

Correction: The time of the incident was 8:07 PM.

On May 14, 2022, at 8:07 AM, the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a 911 call of three overturned kayaks in the Sauk River by Heim’s Mill in Le Sauk Township. The complainant witnessed three kayakers hit an object in the Sauk River and they were thrown from their kayaks.

The Sartell Police Department arrived on the scene and made contact with all three kayakers who were onshore. Preston Silver, 21, St. Cloud, Cole Roach, 22, Sauk Rapids, and Aaron Euteneuer, 21, Sauk Rapids, were not injured during the incident. They were evaluated and medically cleared by Mayo Ambulance Service. All parties were wearing life jackets during this incident.

Due to the high water levels on area rivers the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office recommends that canoers and kayakers stay off of them unless you are at an expert level.
