Road closures, parking guidance and local services in place for major Commonwealth Concert Series event
Pittsburgh, PA – Today, the City of Pittsburgh and America250PA, in coordination with the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), and the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP), announced key transportation, parking, and public safety plans for the Pittsburgh stop of the Commonwealth Concert Series. The free, ticketed, large-scale community event will take place on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the historic Point State Park.
"Pittsburgh is incredibly proud to be a part of this historic statewide celebration," said Pittsburgh Mayor Corey O’Connor. "Point State Park is where our rivers meet and where our communities have gathered for generations. The City has worked closely with America250PA to ensure a safe, accessible, and unforgettable experience as we celebrate the heritage of our Commonwealth and the milestone of our nation."
"This is a historic moment in time, and we are thrilled to bring the Commonwealth Concert Series to Pittsburgh," said Cassandra Coleman, Executive Director of America250PA. "Our goal is to ensure every Pennsylvanian feels included in this 250th-anniversary celebration. By bringing communities together through music and shared history, we hope to leave a lasting legacy that inspires the next generation."
With anticipation building for a weekend of live music and community pride, officials emphasized that Pennsylvania's vital role as the birthplace of American democracy takes center stage during this 250th anniversary season. The free concert series is part of a broader commitment to engage all 67 counties across the Commonwealth, offering accessible cultural experiences to every Pennsylvanian.
The Pittsburgh event features a world-class lineup including Nelly, Third Eye Blind, and special guest Frzy. The evening's festivities will be proudly hosted by Pittsburgh's own former Steelers quarterback and community champion, Charlie Batch.
