CITIPARKS TO OPEN 6 COOLING CENTERS JULY 7 AMID EXTREME TEMPERATURES
Pittsburgh, PA – In response to forecasted temperatures expected to reach 88 degrees for Monday, July 7, 2025, CitiParks will activate six Healthy Active Living Centers as Cooling Centers.
These six centers will provide residents with a safe, air-conditioned environment to escape the heat on Monday from 8 AM – 7 PM:
Beechview Healthy Active Living Community Center
Brighton Heights Healthy Active Living Community Center
Greenfield Healthy Active Living Community Center
Homewood Healthy Active Living Community Center
Sheraden Healthy Active Living Community Center
South Side Healthy Active Living Community Center
All residents are encouraged to take precautions during periods of extreme heat, especially older adults, young children, and those with underlying health conditions.
Note: CitiParks and the City of Pittsburgh will typically activate cooling centers when the forecasted highs are predicted to be above 90 degrees.
