CITIPARKS ANNOUNCES NEW CHAPERONE POLICY AT ORMSBY POOL IN SOUTH SIDE NEIGHBORHOOD
Pittsburgh, PA – Following repeated rule violations at Ormsby Pool in the city’s South Side neighborhood, CitiParks is instituting a chaperone policy effective Saturday, June 28, 2025, in an effort to ensure a safe outdoor pool season for all patrons.
Pool guests, ages 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult 21 years old or older. Chaperones will be required to show identification as proof of age. Additionally, adults will be responsible for ensuring that all minors under their supervision follow pool rules.
Citiparks implemented a chaperone policy at Highland Park Pool in Summer 2024 in response to similar issues there. The City will continue to monitor pool activity throughout the summer to ensure safety remains a top priority and that everyone can enjoy a welcoming pool experience. In the meantime, we kindly ask all residents to follow pool rules and help keep a watchful eye on our young people.
