City of Pittsburgh Announces Summer Concert Series Presented by Citizens
PITTSBURGH — The CitiParks Office of Special Events has announced the schedule for the upcoming 2024 “Summer Concert Series presented by Citizens.” Four concert series will feature 23 events free to the public, including a July 14 performance by the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and the inaugural season of “Jam at Grandview.”
“Stars at Riverview” will continue to showcase local artists in Riverview Park on Saturday evenings in June and July. Concert-goers can stop by Observatory Hill with a lawn chair or blanket for an evening of musical entertainment supported by the Allegheny Regional Asset District (RAD). Each week, concerts will be followed by a showing of “Dollar Bank Cinema in the Park.”
“Bach, Beethoven, and Brunch” will once again bring classical melodies to the gardens of Mellon Park. Presented with support from WQED-FM 89.3 and Comcast, attendees can bring a picnic basket and participate in the weekly “Best Brunch” competition during intermission. Join us this season as we celebrate a long-awaited return of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra to the program.
The Highland Park lawn is home to the sounds of Pittsburgh’s finest jazz musicians during the ever-popular “Reservoir of Jazz” series. Enthusiasts can enjoy local eats and smooth beats from extraordinary talent each Sunday afternoon in August. Following the concert, enjoy “Summer Soul Line Dancing” sessions at the fountain. This series is supported by AARP Pennsylvania, WZUM Jazz, Highland Park Community Council, and RAD.
Debuting this year is “Jam at Grandview”, which will bring a rocking good time to Mt. Washington for five Saturdays in August. Enjoy Pittsburgh’s best views from the Grandview Park Bandstand each week, with music from all new acts and a rotating selection of ales, wines, and spirits. This program is made possible in partnership with RAD.
“Pittsburgh’s Summer Concert Series is an exciting opportunity to come together to celebrate and enjoy our local musicians and artists,” said Mark Rendulic, Market President at Citizens. “We’re grateful to the Department of Parks and Recreation for hosting these concerts and encourage community members to come out this summer and support our local talent.”
