Announcing the Redesigned Higher Education Coordinating Commission (HECC) Website at www.oregon.gov/highered

Salem, Oregon | The Higher Education Coordinating Commission is pleased to announce the launch of our redesigned agency website at www.oregon.gov/highered. The new website is designed to be more accessible, mobile responsive, and user-friendly as we aim to engage the public on the work we do to support higher education and training statewide. Some of the features of the design include the following.

• A simplified home page with multiple ways to find content
• A more modern, mobile-responsive design using visual components  
• A focus on audience needs, including: student and learner opportunities, public engagement opportunities, equity and student success resources, and commonly needed resources for institution and workforce partners
• A website system that is more accessible for all, including people with disabilities who may use assistive technology to access content and people who speak/read languages other than English 
• New content in multiple areas, including sections focused on:
  
  • Accessing College and Training, including key resources for college affordability and links to the wide range of postsecondary opportunities available in Oregon
  • Public Meetings and Engagement including the work of our Commission and numerous advisory boards
  • Strategy, Research and Data, including a page on Recent Initiatives and a new platform of Interactive Data Dashboards on Students and Outcomes 
  • The HECC Agency Offices and its Programs detailing the work we do to serve Oregonians, including expanded sections on Streamlining Transfer and Future Ready Oregon

The new site makes use of a new set of templates that are designed for Oregon state agency websites with a focus on accessibility and usability. We thank the Oregon E-government program for making the improved set of resources available to us, and we thank our contractor Tyler Oregon for their expertise in the design and production of the site, including customization of the template system to meet our agency needs. We also thank Oregon college and university partners for sharing photos of students and campus communities that are featured on the site.
