The steering committee for the Transportation Safety Action Plan will hold a virtual meeting on Zoom 1-3 p.m. July 31.  

The steering committee advises ODOT on updates to the Transportation Safety Action Plan. The plan guides the agency’s decisions and investments to make roads safer for everyone, including people who walk, roll and bike.  

The meeting is open to the public, and there is an opportunity to submit comments. 

On the meeting agenda 

  • Review and confirm the plan’s vision, guiding principles and goal alignment with the Oregon Transportation Plan.
  • Introduce prosocial transportation safety culture and discuss the Oregon Transportation Plan’s social equity approach.
  • Collect feedback on the tiered approach to emphasis areas.

How to submit a comment  

We encourage people to submit comments about transportation safety in their community. You may submit a written comment before the meeting or comment verbally at the meeting. 

How to submit a written comment: 

  • Complete this online form or email your comment to safety@odot.oregon.gov.
  • Written comments are due by 1 p.m. on July 30. We will share all written comments with committee members prior to the meeting.
  • If you submit your comment after the deadline, we’ll include it at the next scheduled meeting in September 2025.  

How to comment at the meeting:  

  • You may comment verbally during the first few minutes of the meeting, but speaking time for public comments will be limited.
  • If you have a detailed comment, submitting it in writing may be your best option. 

Meetings are open to everyone. Accommodations will be provided to people with disabilities. To request an accommodation such as materials in alternate formats, please email Mary McGowan or call statewide relay at 7-1-1 at least 48 hours prior to the meeting.
