Procurement has historically generated the most compliance difficulties for rural and small urban transportation providers. This workshop will review essential procurement policy elements and review and recommend best practices to avoid the ten most common procurement deficiencies. Special attention will be given to entities that rely on state government cooperative procurements to acquire capital items and the steps that must be taken to ensure compliance with Federal Transit Administration (FTA) procurement regulations. This session is designed for transit managers, purchasing managers, and other agency personnel engaged in the acquisition of goods, supplies, and services using FTA funds.
