Work continues on multiple bridges along OR 58

Bridge Work Updates

We're working on several bridges along OR 58 so they are earthquake ready. As a key route between the southern Willamette Valley and Central Oregon, the work we're doing will help make the OR 58 corridor between I-5 and U.S. 97 stronger.

Salt Creek Bridge Replacement

We've been preparing the area for the Salt Creek Bridge replacement on OR 58 near milepost 43, east of Oakridge.

You can expect:

Crews working during the day.
Single lane closures with traffic controlled by an automated flagger assistant device.
Flaggers to help direct traffic as needed.
Construction noise and delays.

Once the area has the work zone set up and equipment in place, the next step is to build a temporary detour bridge and eventually shift traffic onto it. Stay tuned – we'll send updates as we learn more about when we'll shift traffic over.

Coast Fork Willamette River to Lower Salt Creek Bridges

Our crews are currently working at the Barnard Bridge over the Willamette River near milepost 33.

You can expect:

Delays and brief traffic holds as needed.
Construction noise.
Trucks entering and leaving the road near the bridges.

The Dilley Boat Ramp at Coast Fork Willamette River Bridge will remain closed through November 2025.

The hiking trail from Greenwater Park under the Salmon Creek Bridge is now open!

Project bridge locations:

Coast Fork Willamette River Bridge at milepost 2.4 (west of Pleasant Hill).
Willamette River (Barnard) Bridge at milepost 33.2 (west of Oakridge).
Salmon Creek Bridge at milepost 36 (in Oakridge).
Lower Salt Creek Bridge at milepost 38.2 (east of Oakridge).

The Coast Fork Bridge and the Barnard Bridge locations are currently active work zones, please drive with caution.
