BURNS – The Burns DMV at 252 S. Date Ave. will be closed to the public Friday, March 21, for facility work. The office will reopen Monday, March 24, with adjustable counter stations.

Residents can access more than 20 services online at DMV2U. When we reopen March 24, Burns DMV office hours will remain the same, whether by appointment or walking in:

  • 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
  • 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday.
  • Closed 12:30-2 p.m. daily.

We recommend customers check the status of their DMV office before visiting.

As the May 7 federal REAL ID deadline approaches, we are seeing greater demand at many DMV offices. Expect longer lines and longer wait times than normal. At busier offices, while getting your ticket, ask if you can provide your cell number to receive text notifications, allowing you to leave and return when your number gets closer.

You only need a REAL ID if you are 18 and older and will travel in the U.S. by plane after May 7 without a valid passport. If you aren’t flying soon, you can wait to get a REAL ID until it’s time to renew your credential or use a passport. If you don’t need a REAL ID, see if you can complete your service online at DMV2U.Oregon.gov or at one of our 10 self-service kiosks. Wait times are reduced for everyone when customers use these services.
