Meacham Creek and Union Pacific Railroad Bridge closes March 15 for replacement

Meacham Bridge

The Meacham Creek and Union Pacific Railroad Bridge closes March 15.

We are closing the Meacham Creek and Union Pacific Railroad Bridge for a complete replacement. The closure begins Saturday, March 15, and is expected to last through October. A detour will guide travelers around the work site via I-84 Exit 234 (Emigrant Springs State Park).

The Meacham and Union Pacific Railroad Bridge was built in 1925. Extensive deterioration, increasing maintenance costs and potential safety concerns require a complete bridge replacement.

You can expect:

  • A full closure to vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians between Meacham and Exit 238.
  • A signed detour to direct traffic around the closure via I-84 Exit 234 (Emigrant Springs State Park).
