The Meacham Creek and Union Pacific Railroad Bridge closes March 15.
We are closing the Meacham Creek and Union Pacific Railroad Bridge for a complete replacement. The closure begins Saturday, March 15, and is expected to last through October. A detour will guide travelers around the work site via I-84 Exit 234 (Emigrant Springs State Park).
The Meacham and Union Pacific Railroad Bridge was built in 1925. Extensive deterioration, increasing maintenance costs and potential safety concerns require a complete bridge replacement.
You can expect:
- A full closure to vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians between Meacham and Exit 238.
- A signed detour to direct traffic around the closure via I-84 Exit 234 (Emigrant Springs State Park).
