Region 4 Weekly Construction Update

Here at ODOT, we are committed to providing a safe and efficient transportation system for everyone. We invest in Oregon's future through roadway improvement projects. The following projects are located within Region 4; Central Oregon from The Dalles to Klamath Falls on the east side of the Cascades.

There are two ways to learn about construction taking place for the upcoming week. 

1. Visit TripCheck.com. Constantly updated with construction and crash data, TripCheck is the best way to learn about road conditions around the state. Click on a traffic cone symbol on the map to see construction impacts for that area.

2. Scroll down to the counties and highways listed below to see impacts that could affect you. Construction information is shown for one week, giving you the most up-to-date information.

All work is dependent on weather conditions, and schedules are subject to change.

DESCHUTES COUNTY

U.S. 97 and U.S. 20 Bend North Corridor 

Crews will be onsite performing punch list items.

Travelers can expect shoulder closures in various locations throughout the week.

Expected completion - December 2024

U.S. 97: Lower Bridge Way - Northwest 10th Street (Terrebonne) 

Crews will be working on the retaining walls on the east and west sides of U.S. 97 around Lower Bridge way. Smith Rock way has re-opened with flaggers controlling traffic.

No highway delays are expected.

U.S. 20: 3rd Street - 15th Street (Greenwood, Bend) Project

Crews will be performing a single lane closure on U.S. 20 (3rd Street) southbound at the Mount Washington/ Division Street intersections as well as a shoulder closure on Division Street to install sidewalk. Travelers can expect some congestion and minor delays.

OR 126: Redmond - Powell Butte

Crews will be performing a shoulder closure to move equipment into the project zone and survey the area. Traffic control for irrigation crossing work is anticipated to begin in February 2025.

CLACKAMAS COUNTY

OR 35: U.S. 26 Overcrossing Bridge (Mt. Hood Highway)

Work on the project is completed for the season and there are no anticipated impacts to traffic. Work will resume in the Spring of 2025 with the installation of permanent striping.

GILLIAM COUNTY

OR 206: Rock Creek Bridge Project

Construction of the new bridge is complete. Workers may be on-site periodically completing punch list work items with no impacts to motorists. Paving corrective work is expected in late-spring or early Summer 2025.

GILLIAM & SHERMAN COUNTIES

I-84: US197-The Dalles, Rufus & Arlington Bridges

Crews will be performing bump grinding on the newly constructed Rufus crossover and installing temporary signs along I-84 near Rufus and Arlington. Motorists should anticipate shoulder closures on I-84 near mile points 109 & 138 in both eastbound and westbound directions.

KLAMATH COUNTY

OR 140 Brett Way Extension (South Klamath Falls Highway, MP 3.74 - 4.75)

No work expected this week.

U.S. 97: OR 58 - California Border Project (The Dalles - California Highway, MP 252.44 - MP 278.81)

Bridge work will take place on the Link River Bridge at Milepost 275. George Nurse Way is closed to thru traffic. Please use detour in place.
