ONTARIO – The Ontario DMV, 215 E. Lane N., Ste. 4, will be closed Oct. 31 through Nov. 4 for maintenance. The building, which opened July 1 following a move from its former site on S. Seventh Place, is making improvements to the flooring.
Because the closure takes place over a weekend, customers will only be impacted for three business days and will need to visit other offices in the area, including Baker City, Burns or John Day.
The Ontario office will reopen Nov. 5. Office hours will remain the same, whether you’ve made an appointment or walk in:
- 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
- 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday.
You can also access more than 20 services online at DMV2U. We recommend always checking the status of your DMV office before visiting.

REAL ID – Now Boarding, May 7, 2025
Starting May 7, 2025, anyone 18 and older must show identification that meets federal security standards set by the REAL ID Act to board a plane for flights within the U.S. A REAL ID-compliant Oregon driver’s license, instruction permit or identification card meets federal requirements. So does a U.S. passport, military ID, photo ID issued by a federally recognized tribal nation and other types of federally accepted identification. To get a REAL ID-compliant ID, you must visit a DMV office and bring original documents that prove your identity, date of birth, state residence address and lawful status in the U.S. Make sure you have REAL ID before booking a flight. Visit Oregon.gov/REALID.
