LA GRANDE -- The La Grande DMV office at 3014 Island Ave. will close July 9-12 to remodel and expand the lobby. The field office will reopen July 15.
The La Grande DMV is in ODOT’s Eastern Oregon regional headquarters, and due to overcrowding, DMV visitors often overflow from the small lobby into the ODOT building entry. The remodel will nearly double the lobby from 288 to 522 square feet to alleviate congestion and provide more room for people with disabilities.
The larger lobby will also offer more customer seating, new counters, and a second lobby TV displaying estimated wait times and other information.
During the closure, Eastern Oregon residents can visit our offices in Enterprise, Pendleton, or Baker City, or access more than 20 services online at DMV2U. When we reopen July 15, the La Grande DMV office hours will remain the same, whether by appointment or walk-in:
- 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
-
10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Time flies – make sure you can, too! Real ID-compliant identification will be required for domestic flights starting May 7, 2025. If there’s a chance you’ll travel by air in May 2025 and beyond, make sure now you have the ID you will need at airport security. If you don’t have a passport or other TSA-approved ID, consider adding Real ID to your license well before the deadline, as it can take weeks to receive. Click here for more information about Real ID in Oregon, including what documents you’ll need and to make an in-person appointment.
