A section of the Historic Columbia River Highway will close Wednesday, May 29 for repaving

The road between East Larch Mountain Road and Vista House is prone to slides and needs work

From 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 29, Vista House will be available only from westbound Historic Columbia River Highway.

CORBETT -- The Historic Columbia River Highway will close for repaving between East Larch Mountain Road and the west end of the Vista House parking lot between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 29.

Crews will grind and repave this stretch of the road, which is prone to slides.

The work is weather dependent. If weather causes postponement, the backup date is the next day, Thursday, May 30.

Vista House will remain open. During the closure, Vista House will be available by heading west on the Historic Highway from Bridal Veil (Interstate 84 Exit 28).
