Dear Safe Routes to School enthusiasts,

We want to let you know the Safe Routes to School Advisory Committee will meet online from 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m., May 16. Agenda items include a review of the current construction solicitation, a discussion on the education grant recommendations and more. Details on joining the online meeting are available on the website.

Meetings are open to the public. Material in an alternate format or another type of accommodation to participate is available by contacting Xao Posadas at 971-718-6170, or by calling statewide relay at 711.

The Safe Routes to School Advisory Committee includes about 20 volunteers appointed by the ODOT director. The members represent topics and organizations including health, equity, Safe Routes to School practitioner, school district pupil transportation, Oregon Department of Education, League of Oregon Cities, Association of Oregon Counties, Metropolitan Planning Organizations, small cities, Oregon Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee, and Oregon Transportation Safety Committee. The committee meets at least quarterly and is charged with recommending projects for funding in ODOT’s Safe Routes to School Construction and Education Grant Programs. The committee advises the Oregon Transportation Commission and ODOT.
