Dear Safe Routes to School advocates,

We want to let you know the Safe Routes to School Advisory Committee will meet online from 2 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. on March 21. Agenda items include a discussion on the current solicitation, an update on the education grant award process and more. Details on joining the online meeting are available on the website.

REMINDER: Grant applications are due March 25! We have two remaining Zoom Office Hours: Log into program manager office hours on March 14 and March 21 from 1 p.m. - 2 p.m. for additional assistance. 

Meetings are open to the public. Material in an alternate format or another type of accommodation to participate is available by contacting Xao Posadas at 971-718-6170, or by calling statewide relay at 711.

The Safe Routes to School Advisory Committee includes about 20 volunteers appointed by the ODOT director. The members represent topics and organizations including health, equity, Safe Routes to School practitioner, school district pupil transportation, Oregon Department of Education, League of Oregon Cities, Association of Oregon Counties, Metropolitan Planning Organizations, small cities, Oregon Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee, and Oregon Transportation Safety Committee. The committee meets at least quarterly and is charged with recommending projects for funding in ODOT’s Safe Routes to School Construction and Education Grant Programs. The committee advises the Oregon Transportation Commission and ODOT.
