Federal Highway Administration Issues Finding of No Significant Impact for Project

On Tuesday March 12th, the I-5 Rose Quarter Improvement Project reached another major milestone that moves the project closer to being ready for construction. The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) granted its environmental review approval for ODOT’s I-5 Rose Quarter Improvement Project. This means ODOT has federal approval to proceed with the project and can continue moving forward with more detailed project design. This news comes right on the heels of the $450 million federal grant funding announced by the US Department of Transportation to finish project design and start construction of the highway cover.

ODOT Adopts Findings of Compatibility for I-5 Rose Quarter Improvement Project

In addition to the federal environmental decision, ODOT has adopted the I-5 Rose Quarter Improvement Project’s findings of compatibility with the local land use, as defined in the City of Portland’s comprehensive plan. These findings are part of ODOT’s State Agency Coordination Program and have been prepared in compliance with Oregon Administrative Rule 731-015-0075. The adopted findings are available on the Project website
