Rolling Slow Downs on I-205 in West Linn and Oregon City Starting Tomorrow, Nov. 16, at 9:30 a.m.

I-205 Improvements Project Map

What: Crews will conduct rolling slowdowns and area closures near southbound I-205 west of OR 43 in West Linn.

  • I-205 slowdown: Traffic will slow down in both directions – Northbound and Southbound on I-205 allowing for a 15-minute window for detonation to occur. Drivers should expect lengthy delays and are encouraged to plan ahead.
  • Ramp closures:
    • The onramp from OR 43 and OR 99E to I-205 Southbound will be closed.
    • 10th Ave. onramp to I-205 Northbound will be closed.
  • Road closures in West Linn: Roads will be closed to traffic and parking on West A Street and Broadway Street, between Buse Street and Willamette Falls Drive.
  • The work zone will be a restricted access area and will be secured by law enforcement.

When: Tomorrow, Thursday, November 16, between 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. for approximately 15 minutes. Plan ahead. Expect long delays.

Why: Crews are working to detonate what is assumed to be two abandoned blasting caps used during the original construction of the bridge. There is no immediate danger to the public. Slowdowns are needed for safety precautions.
