The Historic Columbia River Highway will close for maintenance Thursday, May 11 between East Larch Mountain Road and Vista House.
The road will be closed to all users from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This section of the Historic Highway between East Larch Mountain Road and Vista House lies on a historic slide area. The pavement has settled and needs repairs to smooth the roadway surface. We’re continuing to look at long-term engineering solutions to address the ongoing slide threat in this area.
The work is weather dependent and subject to change.
Access to Vista House will remain open by heading west on the Historic Highway from Bridal Veil (Interstate 84 Exit 28).
