Dear Safe Routes to School enthusiast,

Mark your calendar! A Safe Routes to School workshop is occurring near you soon (see below). We want you to be prepared for the upcoming Competitive Construction Grant and Planning Assistance Programs’ application solicitation. Feel free to share the workshop flyer with those you think may be interested.

At the workshops, ODOT staff will present a program overview and answer questions about this funding and resource opportunity. The presentation will cover things like timeline, eligibility, proposal selection process and priorities, match requirements, and proposal development tips. Who should attend? Representatives from cities, counties, tribes, transit agencies, and public schools.

4/8: Roseburg, 9:30 a.m. - 11 a.m.,, 1409 NE Diamond Lake Blvd, Deer Creek Room, in collaboration with Douglas Educational Service District.

4/9: Brookings, 2:30 p.m. - 4 p.m., 412 Alder, in collaboration with ODOT-hosted transit providers quarterly meeting.

4/24: Eugene, 1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m., 99 E. Broadway, Suite 400, in collaboration with COSA principal conference.

5/4: WEBINAR, 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., email leeanne.fergason@odot.state.or.us to RSVP.

5/19: Salem, 3 p.m. - 4:30 p.m., 100 High Street SE, in collaboration with the Mid-Willamette Valley Council of Governments.

5/21: Portland, 3:30 p.m. - 5 p.m., 1120 SW 5th Ave, Room 201, in collaboration with Portland Metro area Safe Routes to School practitioners.

6/4: Bend, 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., 799 SW Columbia, in collaboration with Transportation Options Group of Oregon statewide meeting.

*Noted workshops may not include all the updated materials. Current information on the ODOT Safe Routes to School site focuses on the previous grant cycle and will help orient you. We will be updating the website with new application materials before April 2020. Thank you for your interest in making safe streets for our kids!

Reminder: Process begins in April

In the spring/summer of 2020, we will solicit proposals for $26 million in Safe Routes to School Construction funding. Up to 30 communities may also receive planning assistance from our Project Identification Program.

Please remember that the Rapid Response Grant Program is open now and accepting applications on a continual basis in 2020.
