Date & Time of Incident: 9/24/2024 at 4:27 PM.
Location: 1800 block of SW 18th St.
Deceased: Martinez, Arturo (H/M, DOB: 3/20/1993)
Narrative: On 9/24/2024, police responded to a shooting in the 1800 block of SW 18th St. Responding officers discovered Arturo Martinez had been shot and killed inside the residence.
Investigators learned that Mr. Martinez drove to the residence to settle a dispute between himself and an occupant of the house. During a disagreement with that person, Mr. Martinez pulled out a pistol and pointed it at the individual’s head. A third person who saw what was transpiring, retrieved a gun and shot Mr. Martinez, killing him.
Homicide investigators interviewed the shooter and ultimately decided to release him pending further investigation.
