Second Semester Learning Model Reminders

Next Week (Jan. 4-8) Hybrid for All In-Person Students

Dear Deer Park Families:

We hope you all had a wonderful and safe holiday break. We are excited to kick off the second semester in the coming days! As we begin preparations for next week, we wanted to take a brief moment to remind you of plans for next week and beyond.

Families who have chosen the in-person schooling model for the second semester will begin school on January 4th at both Amity and the Jr./Sr. High School in a hybrid model. We will do this for one week. Both buildings will have students follow the same schedule; “A” day on Monday/Tuesday, Remote on Wednesday, and “B” day on Thursday/Friday.

On Monday, January 11th, all students in grades 1 - 12 will report for full time, in-person classes. Kindergarten will remain on their current schedule for the remainder of the year.

All families who chose the virtual option for second semester will begin their virtual classes on Monday, January 4th.

We also want to remind you that if any student has tested positive for COVID-19 during the break, we are asking that you still notify the district by sending an email to snyder.j@dpccsd.org. This was requested by the Hamilton County Health Department so that they are able to continue tracking current COVID-19 data.

As with the first semester, patience and flexibility will be key for the second semester until we get through this pandemic. Our schooling model can change very quickly based on the COVID data within the district. We will continue to communicate any new developments to all of you as soon as we can.

Sincerely,

Jay Phillips
Superintendent
