Veterans Advisory Committee Application Deadline Extended 

Residents age 18 or older who currently or previously served in the armed forces, or who have significant professional experience in Veterans' Programming and Services are invited to apply. Applications are due Friday, August 1, 2025 at 4:30PM

French American Heritage Event

We gathered at City Hall on Tuesday, July 15 for the French American Heritage Month recognition event, celebrating the rich history, traditions, contributions and achievements of French Americans in New Rochelle and beyond.

This year's event honored the Sister City Committee for their dedication and support in building cultural links between New Rochelle, NY and La Rochelle, France and included a presentation by City Historian Barbara Davis detailing the deep-rooted connection between the two cities.

Connect to City Hall with a Tap Through the New "Mobile NR" App!

The new Mobile NR app- available for iOS and Android- and computer portal  let users report non-emergency issues and access information about City of New Rochelle happenings. Created with the aim of furthering the City Manager’s Quality of Life Initiative, Mobile NR allows citizens to upload photos, drop a pin on a map, and report an issue, non-emergency service request, or quality-of-life matter.

Beat the Heat - Cooling Centers

Reminder: Cooling Centers Activated During Extreme Heat

The City will activate local cooling centers for residents looking to Beat the Heat when any of the following conditions are predicted:
-A Heat Advisory with a forecasted heat index of 95°F or higher for two (2) or more consecutive day
-A forecasted heat index of 100°F or higher for any period of time, regardless of duration
-Sustained temperatures of at least 90°F for three or more consecutive days.

A full list of centers is available online. During times of extreme heat, remember to stay hydrated, avoid strenuous outdoor activities and check in on vulnerable family members and neighbors. To learn more about how to keep safe during an extreme heat event, visit newrochelleny.gov/heatemergency.

SAFETY REMINDER: 1 in 4 Hot Car Deaths happen when kids get trapped in cars. Never leave a child- or pet- in a vehicle unattended for any length of time. Once you park, Stop. Look. Lock. More info at NHTSA.GOV/campaign/heatstroke


Hudson Park beach

Hudson Park Beach, Lincoln Park Pool Open Daily  

Hudson Park Beach is open every day from 10AM to 7PM, conditions permitting. Enjoy outdoor showers, the Hudson Park Café on the sundeck, public restrooms and a staffed parking lot. Parking is free with a Parks Passport!

The Lincoln Pool is open 12-6PM daily! Admission is with a Lincoln Pool Pass.

Seasonal fee is $10 for adults 18+ and $5 for children ages 6-17. Pool is free for ages 5 and under.

 


School Tax Bill First Half Due September 1, 2025

Reminder: the collection months for School taxes have changed. The School tax bill first half is now due September 1, 2025.

New Assessment Calendar Dates

New assessment dates will begin for the 2026 assessment cycle:
December 1 – Taxable status date.  Exemption forms due
December 1- Valuation date
February 1- Tentative assessment roll
Third Tuesday in February – Grievance Day
April 1- Final assessment roll
May 1- Deadline for appeals filed with the County Clerk
September 1 – School tax bill first half
January 1- City tax bill
March 1 - School tax bill second half
June 1 – County tax bill

OPENING: BRIAN CARTER QUINTET
Brian Carter is a distinguished jazz drummer, educator, and cultural ambassador based in New Rochelle, New York. A seventh-generation New Rochellean, Carter has significantly contributed to the local and international music scenes through performance, education, and cultural exchange initiatives.

Coffee with the Mayor- July 19

Join Mayor Yadira Ramos-Herbert for coffee and conversation at her monthly “Coffee with the Mayor” series. These casual gatherings provide residents with the opportunity to connect with the Mayor over coffee, share their thoughts, concerns and ideas, and ask questions about City issues.The next coffee is Saturday, July 19 at 10AM at Toastique, 604 North Avenue.

On Saturday, July 26 beginning at dusk, lighted boats will parade through the New Rochelle Harbor and along our shoreline. Ideal viewing from Hudson and Neptune Parks.

L.L. Bean Discovery Classes

Take advantage of our partnership with L.L.Bean's Outdoor Discovery programs at Five Islands Park and enjoy expert-led experiences in kayaking, paddleboarding, and archery.

A variety of options are available for each activity. Kayaking and paddleboard experiences include private, group, and women's-only, along with guided and sunset tours- with a birding option for kayakers! Discovery, women-only and private classes are offered in Archery. This program is open to adults as well as older children with parents/guardians.

The New York Metropolitan Transportation Council (NYMTC) invites you to review and comment on the programs/projects planned for the next Regional Transportation Plan (RTP), Moving Forward 2055 and the 2025 Congestion Management Process (CMP) Status Report.  These two transportation actions documents, which are produced every four years, provide a framework for transportation planning within our region and are now open for public comment through July 30. Violation of this code section shall be subject to a fine not exceeding $250 or by imprisonment of not more than 15 days, or both.
