WATCH ME WIPP, WATCH ME AUTOPAY

Your 2026 combined sewer/stormwater bill has been mailed; and this combined bill was due June 8, 2025, with a 30-day grace period.

Billed amounts are also available on our Maplewood Township website through our WIPP online payment system. This is the easiest way to see what you owe, pay your bill, and optionally register for recurring payments via AUTOPAY.

If registering for AUTOPAY, please do so by June 12th to have your 2026 charges scheduled and paid before the end of the grace period. An electronic notice will be sent to you before payments are drawn. If you prefer to pay by check, please send two separate checks: one for stormwater charges; and a second check for the combined sewer charges. *WIPP/Autopay can also be used for quarterly tax payments.

ROOSEVELT PARK GRANT

Maplewood Historic Preservation Commission has been awarded a $40,000 grant to conduct a historic resources survey of the Roosevelt Park neighborhood.

The Commission is excited to partner with Architectural Heritage Consultants to document and further explore the neighborhood's rich history. They are expected to begin fieldwork in the next few weeks, which includes photographing properties from public streets and sidewalks (no access to private property will be required). Roosevelt Park is an early 20th century residential development on land that was once the estate of Cornelius Van Schaack ("C.V.S.") Roosevelt Jr., uncle of President Theodore Roosevelt. C.V.S. Roosevelt's country home - known as The Hickories - once stood on the site, and its original entrance road, Hickory Drive, is still used today.

PROSPECT & OAKLAND

Maplewood Township is piloting a new traffic pattern that prohibits left hand turns at the two Prospect St. and Oakland Rd. intersections. Electronic signs are posted on site, advising drivers of the change. The pilot program is part of a proposed redesign of Prospect St. that has been discussed at 3 public meetings  (April 28May 4 and May 26). The Township is looking to repave the entire length of Prospect St. this year; with discussions to add dedicated bike lanes in several areas, a stop sign at Elmwood, and other improvements to increase pedestrian, cyclist & motor vehicle safety.
