Historic Town Hall Cupola to Come Down
Built in 1938, Historic Town Hall is a redbrick two-story Georgian/Federal (Colonial) Revival structure laid in Flemish bond with glazed headers, with a full basement, and a hipped slate roof. The crest of the roof is topped by an arcaded octagonal wooden cupola with a domical, copper-clad roof, set on a louvered base. Staff have determined the cupola needs significant repairs, partly because it's allowing water to leak into the building. We plan to take it down and put it in storage at the end of the month.
