Montana OPI Embraces Innovative Technologies to Create Personalized Professional Development Plans for Teachers
HELENA- Superintendent Elsie Arntzen of the Office of Public Instruction (OPI) announces a strategic collaboration with ImpactED, LLC, poised to reshape education in Montana. This collaboration aims to elevate statewide math and reading proficiency scores by empowering K-8 teachers with cutting-edge technology solutions.
“With only 37% of students showing proficiency in math and 46% in reading, Montana must get back to the basics,” said Montana Superintendent Elsie Arntzen. “My office has focused on the basics through revising our state content standards, creating Math Innovation Zones, and reimagining student assessments through the MAST program. The partnership with ImpactED is another opportunity for our teachers and schools to promote student success.”
ImpactED, LLC, is a global technology firm aimed at improving education through the use of innovative technology solutions. One such technology is called ‘PD2’ (Personalized, Differentiated, Professional Development). PD2 is a revolutionary platform designed to elevate student outcomes by giving teachers professional development freedom and allowing them to personalize their professional development plan based on the specific needs of their classrooms and students.
"Montana OPI, under the visionary leadership of Superintendent Arntzen, has displayed a bold commitment to the families, students, and teachers of Montana by prioritizing student achievement through innovative strategies to equip and empower teachers,” said, ImpactED, CEO Merritt Nelson.
Aligned with OPI's core initiatives, including ‘Montana Teach’ and ‘Montana Learn,’ ImpactED's research-based solutions have proven to yield remarkable results, with student proficiency scores climbing by up to 20%. These transformative technologies will be seamlessly integrated into Montana's educational landscape, providing educators with the tools they need to thrive.
A pilot cohort of Montana educators will have access to these state-of-the-art resources on April 15, 2024, with a state-wide rollout expected in the fall of 2024. With this partnership, OPI and ImpactED are poised to usher in a new era of educational excellence.
