MMP Highlights

The Montana Memory Project (MMP) continues to provide information on ways to successfully use the new site through this Highlights newsletter and the Highlights section on the home page. 

Library staff members are encouraged to share these with patrons by adding these ideas to your website and sharing through social media outlets.

We are hard at work updating the copyright status of the tens of thousands of items on the MMP website. We have worked closely with each Contributing Organization to determine the use status of every item on the site. If you wish to use an item for a project or publication, you will find a "Copyright" box on the left side of the item page (see example of that box at right). Here you will find guidance on the uses and restrictions of each item.

We encourage you to contact the item's Contributing Organization directly when you have questions about copyright status. Each item page on the site has a link (such as the example at right) to the Contributing Organization's home page on the site. When you navigate to this page, you will find a link to the organization's website, where you should find contact information. To locate this link on the MMP site, look on the right side of the item page, under "Details," and then look for the heading "Contributing Institution."

Some organizations have opted to share contact information for reproductions directly on the MMP site. This information can be found on the right side of each item page, in the "Details" box (see example at right).
