Prevent Slips and Falls this Winter

  • Snow and ice can make everyday activities, like stepping out of a car, treacherous. In Montana, unintentional falls are the third most common cause of injury-related deaths.
  • Avoid walking on snow or ice, but if it is unavoidable, consider walking like a penguin—slow, wide stance, and small steps.
  • To learn more about preventing slipping and falling during the winter, join a falls prevention class.
