Health in the 406

November is National Diabetes Awareness Month

  • November is National Diabetes Awareness Month, a time when people come together to bring awareness to diabetes and diabetes-related health problems.
  • By taking charge of your health, you can prevent diabetes-related health problems. Here are some tips to help you take care of your health: know your risk factors for developing diabetes, manage your health (ex: weight, blood glucose, blood pressure and cholesterol levels), work with your healthcare provider, take care of your mental health, and take small steps toward creating healthy habits.
