August is National Breastfeeding Month

  • The Montana Department of Health and Human Services recognizes the importance of protecting, promoting and supporting lactation for the human life cycle during National Breastfeeding Month.
  • Around 60% of mothers do not breastfeed for as long as they intend to due to a variety of factors such as unsupportive work policies and lack of parental leave.
  • Learn how Montana workplaces can support employees who breastfeed their infants by becoming a Mother Friendly Worksite.
