National Infant Immunization Week

Health in the 406

National Infant Immunization Week

  • Immunizations help prevent the spread of diseases and help protect infants, their families, and their communities by preventing and reducing the spread of infectious diseases.
  • Among children born between 1994-2018, vaccination will prevent an estimated 419 million illnesses, 26.8 million hospitalizations, and 936,000 deaths over their lifetimes.
  • National Infant Immunization Week provides an opportunity to build trust in vaccines through conversations between parents, doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and community members.
