Save the Date! Thursday June 10th 9:00-10:30. MAWA is hosting a virtual round table discussion, WIC Clinic Life After COVID! It has been quite a ride for WIC agencies and MAWA wants to support local agencies with preparing for our new normal.
Some clinics have remained open, or started opening, and we would like to spotlight those clinics to share their experience. If your agency has seen clients in the office and would like to participate, we invite you to contact us to create a panel of speakers. MAWA would also like to address questions from all local agencies.
Please email our current MAWA president, Kate Devino kdevino@missoulacounty.us, by May 21st if you are able to participate in the panel discussion and any questions you have. An invite for the round table will be sent out prior to the meeting.
MAWA Mission Statement: Through collaboration, advocacy, and support, we inspire a unified voice of the Montana WIC community to assure quality services. *If you have not paid your MAWA dues, or want to join, it is not to late! Please complete this form.

Keep an eye out this week for an appreciation package that is being mailed to all WIC clinics who have nurses on staff. Happy Nurses week and thanks for all you do! |

The State Office has created a new food item to account for Medicaid issued formula. Medicaid is first payer in Montana and WIC staff have been asked to refer to Medicaid for coverage when possible and if appropriate. If Medicaid does cover the formula, then we are asking that WIC staff issue Medicaid Issued Formula to the participant so we can count the participation and better track how much Medicaid is covering.
If you have any questions regarding policy information, please reach out to Lacy. If you are having IT issues, please reach out to the WIC Help Desk at WICHelp@mt.gov
