As the State nears the end of the State Fiscal Year (June 30), we are asking all local agencies to ensure your expenditure reports are submitted on time to make this process smooth. This is also a great opportunity to review your current year budgets and ensure spending is on track with your projections.
If you believe you may have excess funds, or are short funds for the year, please reach out to Kate to discuss so we can work on balancing our funds across the program.
Please also be sure to send in your projected Budget Requests for FFY 22 to Kate this week as the funding formula is in development and will better reflect your needs if we have this information. Kate will start reaching out to agencies who have not submitted in the coming days.
On June 3rd at 9am Kate will be hosting a conference call to review WIC budgeting, contracts, and the upcoming funding projections for FFY22, including with FMNP & BFPC. Please plan to attend if you are involved in this process at the local level or forward the invite to those who are. This is not a restricted call, and if you care to listen in for learning purposes, this is welcome.

Abstract Submission Deadline May 31.
The annual MPHA (Montana Public Health Association) conference on September 20 - 22, 2021 in Helena Montana, will feature a series of hands on-skill building workshops, sessions and networking opportunities.
The plenaries and sharing sessions will highlight the conference theme, "Driving Public Health Forward: A Dynamic Response to Working Together" and will explore how the local public health workforce and its stake holders can develop collaborative approaches to identify and strengthen cross-sector partnerships: refine and create new data- and information sharing-systems; examine the root cause of health inequity and discover how public health policies are developed to respond to emerging trends-- all with the purpose of improving the health of the communities we serve.
As you know this has been an unprecedented year for public health and Montana has seen a departure of many public health professionals. Therefore, this year’s MPHA conference is more vital than ever before. We must ensure that seasoned professionals can recharge while new professionals receive workforce development essential to their role. It is our goal to ensure that the conference celebrates our public health workers and provides many opportunities to connect/network (in a safe manner). In addition, it will be a time for public health to look beyond COVID-19, focus on recovery, and discuss the public health issues that will need attention.
