July 23, 2026 (MINNEAPOLIS) – UPDATE: The Minneapolis Police Department is highlighting charges filed by the Hennepin County Attorney's Office in connection with the April 2, 2026, homicide that occurred near the intersection of 31st Avenue North and North 4th Street in Minneapolis.
Chrisean Marcelous Criddell has been charged with Second-Degree Murder with Intent (Not Premeditated) and Second-Degree Murder – Drive-by Shooting.
According to the criminal complaint, Criddell, while seated in a vehicle, allegedly shot the victim through the driver's side window.
A search of the online Hennepin County Jail Roster will provide the current custody status of Criddell.

Minneapolis Police investigate an early morning homicide.
April 2, 2026 (MINNEAPOLIS) –Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara announced that an early morning shooting killed one man.
Fourth Precinct Officers responded to a reported shooting near 31 Av N and 4 Av shortly after 1:18 a.m. on April 2, 2026. A 911 caller reported hearing a single gunshot followed by a person yelling for help.
Officers located a man in the street with a life-threatening gunshot wound. Officers immediately provided medical aid. The injured man was transported by ambulance to Hennepin Healthcare where he later died.
Officers secured the scene and canvassed the area. Minneapolis Police Forensic Scientists processed the scene and collected evidence.
Investigators are working to determine the circumstances that led up to the shooting.
