Minneapolis Police investigating homicide of a man

April 30, 2026 (MINNEAPOLIS) — Chief O’Hara announced that a man in his 60s died after being shot.

At approximately 8:48 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, Fourth Precinct officers responded to a report of a shooting and located a 69-year-old man inside a residence in the 4800 block of Bryant Avenue North.  The man was deceased from an apparent fatal gunshot wound.

Officers secured the scene and canvassed the area.

Homicide investigators responded and are working to determine the sequence of events that led up to this shooting.  Currently, this does not appear random.

MPD Forensic Scientists responded to process the scene and collect evidence.

“This is a tragic loss of life,” said Chief O’Hara. “Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and loved ones. We need anyone who may have information about what happened to come forward.”

The MPD incident number is 26-111140.
