Murder Charges Filed in July 25 Homicide of Justin “Juice” Marshall

April 6, 2026 (MINNEAPOLIS) – Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara announced that the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office has charged Dijon Jacquez Davis with 2nd Degree Murder for the killing Justin “Juice” Marshall in a July 25, 2025, shooting.

On July 25, 2025, at approximately 2:33 a.m., Fifth Precinct officers responded to a reported shooting near Franklin Avenue and Lyndale Avenue South. Officers located a man in his 30s suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. Officers immediately rendered aid and began CPR. The victim was transported by ambulance to Hennepin Healthcare, where he later died.

The victim was later identified as Justin “Juice” Marshall.

Preliminary investigation determined that Marshall had been speaking with a man seated inside a vehicle when the suspect exited the vehicle and fired multiple shots, striking him. The suspect fled the scene prior to officers arriving. Case Number 25-207056.

Justin Marshall’s death deeply impacted the Minneapolis community. Known to many as “Juice,” DJ connected people across many different circles. He was an innocent victim of senseless gun violence, and his loss has been felt across the city.

“This was a heartbreaking and senseless act of violence that took a beloved member of our community,” said Chief O’Hara. “Justin Marshall’s life mattered.  While news of charges will not alleviate the pain of the loss his family and friends have endured, it does bring some soothing for the longing for justice they have demanded.  I am grateful for the tireless, expert work of our homicide investigators who continue to work relentlessly in pursuit of justice.
