December 11, 2025 (MINNEAPOLIS) –Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara announced Wednesday that two separate shootings resulted in two deaths.
The first shooting, incident 25-354628, occurred at approximately 9:26 p.m., December 10th, 2025, on the 2900 block of Emerson Ave N. Fourth Precinct officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation and 911 calls reporting the sound of gunfire. Officers located a man in his 20’s lying on a sidewalk with life- threatening gunshot wounds. Officers provided immediate medical aid. He was transported by ambulance to North Memorial Healthcare where he later died.
Preliminary information indicates that a verbal argument escalated to gunfire and that two other individuals dressed in black fled the scene on foot.
Investigators are working to determine the sequence of events that led to this violence.
There have been no arrests.
The second shooting, incident 25-354640, occurred less than a half-hour later at approximately 9:50 p.m. Officers responded to reports of gunfire on the 800 block of E Franklin Ave and located a woman in her 30s with life threatening injuries outside on the sidewalk. Officers rendered immediate medical aid. The woman was transported to Hennepin Healthcare where she later died.
Preliminary information indicates that a group of individuals had gathered in the area and a verbal altercation escalated to gunfire. The deceased woman was outside when she was struck by gunfire. It is currently unknown if the deceased woman was involved in the altercation.
Investigators are working do determine the sequence of events that led up to this violence.
There have been no arrests.
MPD does not have any information to indicate that these two shootings are connected.
