July 4, 2025 (MINNEAPOLIS) – Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara announced that officers are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred late Friday night in South Minneapolis.
At approximately 11:20 p.m., Minneapolis Firefighters were flagged down to check on a man who was unconscious on the ground in the 2700 block of Bloomington Ave. They immediately began CPR.
Officers identified the man as being in his 20s, with at least one apparent gunshot wound. They also located evidence of gunfire, indicating that multiple shots had been fired.
The injured man was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Minneapolis Police Department is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
“Someone knows what happened to this man,” said Chief O’Hara. “We need anyone with information, no matter how minor it may seem, to share that information with us.”
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the man’s name, along with the official cause and manner of death.
