Ward 4 News from Council Member LeTrisha Vetaw

6/14/2025

To the people of Minneapolis and beyond,

Out of an abundance of caution, the Minnesota Department of Public Safety has advised the public to avoid attending today’s protests until the suspect involved in this morning’s tragic incident is apprehended.

I know our community is grieving, angry, and seeking togetherness, but your safety comes first. I’m urging everyone to please follow this guidance and stay home until we have more information from law enforcement.

We are in a Joint Information System posture and are amplifying these public safety messages across City channels.

Please take care of yourselves and one another. We will continue to update you as we learn more.

With love and care,
Council Member LaTrisha Vetaw
