Minneapolis Police are Investigating an Apparent Homicide

December 1, 2024 (MINNEAPOLIS) Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara said that an individual was found dead today from an apparent gunshot wound.  

At approximately 12:30 p.m., officers from the 3rd Precinct responded to an unresponsive person lying on the ground on the 3300 block of 10 Av S.  Preliminary information indicates that family used cell phone location information to find their 25-year-old family member.  They say that they had not heard from her since last night. The medical examiner has told investigators that the individual had at least one apparent gunshot wound.

MPD homicide investigators have begun their efforts to determine the sequence of events that led up to this homicide. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will release the identity of the deceased individual along with the cause and manner of death. 

 “My heart aches for this family,” said Chief O’Hara. “The thought that a family member is murdered is unbearable. We ask anyone with information to immediately contact our investigators.”
