April 13, 2024 (Minneapolis): On April 12, 2024, at approximately 8:55 p.m., officers from the 4th Precinct responded to a ShotSpotter activation and 911 calls near the 3600 block of Penn Av N. Officers arrived and worked their way through a crowd to an adult man in his 20s with potentially life-threatening gunshot wounds and lying on the ground outside. Officers provided immediate medical aid until the male was transported to North Memorial Medical Center. Despite all lifesaving efforts, the man later died at the hospital.
Officers secured the scene and canvased the area. MPD Forensic Scientists processed the scene and collected evidence.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will release the deceased man’s name and the cause and manner of his death.
