Man killed in shooting.

February 29, 2024 (Minneapolis): Fourth-Precinct officers responded to reports of a shooting on the 3900 block of Sheridan Ave. N at 4:39 p.m. At the scene, officers found an unknown man suffering from an apparent life-threatening gunshot wound. First responders performed life-saving maneuvers, but despite best efforts, the man died at the scene.

According to investigators, the man was in a parked vehicle when he was fatally shot. Bystanders pulled the man from the vehicle and performed CPR until first responders arrived. Multiple bullet casings were found at the scene.

Investigators are working to determine the circumstances that led to the shooting.

There have been no arrests. The GO number is 24-052789.

Forensic scientists from the Minneapolis Police Forensic Division responded to process the scene and collect evidence. Homicide detectives responded to begin an investigation.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will release the deceased man’s name and the cause and nature of his death.
