October is Substance Use & Misuse Prevention Month: SAMHSA has released a media toolkit to help lift up the national conversation around substance use prevention. This toolkit is full of messages that focus on the positive impacts that prevention efforts have on communities.
The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) has launched Be Cannabis Aware, a new public health campaign focused on educating youth under age 25—and the adults who support them—about cannabis use. The campaign offers downloadable materials for peer-to-peer conversations covering cannabis facts and dangers, coping strategies, navigating peer pressure as well as support resources. A special “For Mentors” section provides tools to help parents, teachers, and coaches talk confidently with youth. Visit org to view the campaign, access resources and spark meaningful conversations.
