Special Education New-Year Grab Bag Webinar
Discuss special education finance new-year reminders and new requirements for state fiscal year (SFY) 2025. Topics include Special Education Data Reporting Application (SEDRA), Minnesota Education Grants System (MEGS), tuition billing, special pupils and state special education aid calculations.
Training will be held on: April 16, 2025, 10–11:30 a.m.
Special Education MEGS Training Webinar
This session will cover the MN Education Grants System (MEGS). The primary emphasis will be on how to log into MEGS, MEGS roles, Central Data Collection tile (Program Assurances), Coordinated Early Intervening Services (CEIS) grant application process, the The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part B, C and Discretionary Grant tiles, SEDRA budgets, reimbursement requests, closeout reports and important deadlines.

Special Education Tuition Billing Overview
The Minnesota Department of Education is responsible for calculating state special education aid adjustments for students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that are served outside of their resident district. Learn the process of how tuition billing calculates and invoices the resident district for the unreimbursed costs of providing special education services, special education transportation, and general education revenue, if applicable. This presentation will highlight the tuition billing system, student acknowledgements, source systems used for tuition billing, key reporting issues, and reports to monitor.

Special Education Cross-District FTE Errors and Contracts Training Webinar
This training is for those who work with Special Education contracted services and work to resolve cross-district full-time equivalent (FTE) errors in SEDRA. The presentation will cover process for contracting for Special Education service providers, what the contracts should include and LEA responsibilities to ensure reasonable expenditures for these contracted services. It will also cover how to locate the Cross-District FTE Review screen, how to identify staff exceeding the FTE limit, whom to contact, and error resolution.

SEDRA 101 Beginners Training Webinar
This training is a basic introduction to using SEDRA. The presentation will cover gaining access, website navigation, procedures, system coding, errors and more. It's an ideal training for those new to special education funding.
