Child dies from apparent drowning in Maple Grove

July 2, 2017 (MAPLE GROVE) – Hennepin County Sheriff's deputies, Maple Grove police and fire, and North Memorial paramedics responded to a call of an unconscious child in a pool at the 7300 block of Orchid Ln. in Maple Grove at approximately 9 a.m.

When first responders arrived they began medical care. The child was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. 

The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office is investigating.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office will make the identification and official cause of death.
