Behavioral Health Division merges learning centers

The Behavioral Health Division at the Minnesota Department of Human Services is pleased to announce the merger of our learning centers. The Adult/Children's Mental Health Learning Center and the Substance Use Learning Center have merged to create the Behavioral Health Learning Center, a singular access point to our trainings. Continuous learning benefits everyone involved in our work, and we are excited to offer this new opportunity.

This merger brings together our division’s collective experience to expand our broad-based trainings in the areas of mental health and substance use. Our wide array of partners, service and treatment providers, professionals, and liaisons now have access to a larger integrated portfolio of training opportunities to enhance the knowledge and skills of their workforce.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get to the new Behavioral Health Learning Center?

You can visit the new learning center at pathlore.dhs.mn.gov/stc/BehHlth.

What happened to the Adult and Children's Mental Health Learning Center?

The mental health learning center is currently redirecting to the new learning center, and will eventually expire.

What trainings methodologies do you offer?

We have multiple methods available for training, including classroom, Webex/video, and online learning. Class schedules are available in the class and course catalogs, and online learnings are available specifically in the course catalog search.

Why are there so many search category options?

Because we offer many different trainings, it is sometimes easier for our partners and providers to find them based on subject area. We offer the following search categories in our merged learning center:

  • Behavioral Health classes/courses (a combination of mental health and substance use content)
  • Behavioral Health Homes classes/courses (content related to Minnesota's version of the federal "health home" benefit)
  • Mental Health classes/courses (both adult and children's mental health content)
  • Substance Use classes/courses (both adult and children’s substance use content)
