Defining Intensive Out-Patient as a State Medicaid Benefit

As part of our commitment to continue to enhance substance use disorder (SUD) services across the continuum, we will be working on defining the Intensive Outpatient level of care. This service is also approved by CMS as one of the crucial components of 1115 implementation plan.

Stakeholder Involvement in the Creation of Minnesota’s new Medicaid Benefit

The Behavioral Health Division will be seeking input from providers of substance use disorder treatment services and other interested parties in defining an IOP benefit. To that end, the Behavioral Health Division will be hosting a series of Webinars later this year to provide our initial thoughts on this, explain rationale, and seek input from stakeholders. The goal is to have this available as a statewide benefit by 1 July, 2022.
