Opioid State Targeted Response (STR) Request for Proposals Due by April 28, 2017, 4 p.m.

A statewide request for proposal (RFP) was released on March 20, 2017, for the Opioid State Targeted Response grant. Up to 4.29 million dollars through federal fiscal year 2018 will be distributed through the RFP. Proposals are due by April 28, 2017, 4 p.m.  This is an expedited timeline to meet the grant requirements from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). 

 DHS is seeking proposals that have ideas related to any of the five spending priorities:

  1. Overdose prevention via providing naloxone.
  2. Providing access to services for direct access, care coordination and peer support.
  3. Increasing state capacity for providing medication assisted treatment for opioid use disorder. Including increasing availability of office based opioid treatment and supporting the development of an infrastructure in the state for collaborative relationships between behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment.
  4. State wide media campaign for primary prevention and also by expanding our Know the Dangers website to include opioids.
