Don't Miss These Upcoming Events
Dear Prince Georgians:
I wanted to let you know about two upcoming events that you do not want to miss. We are excited to welcome Chief Medical Advisor to the President and National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) Director, Dr. Anthony Fauci, on Monday, February 8, 2021, at 2:00 PM, for a discussion about COVID-19 vaccines and what they mean for our County. Dr. Fauci will be joined by our Health Officer, Dr. Ernest Carter, and University of Maryland Capital Region Health Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Joseph Wright, to answer questions and concerns about the safety and efficacy of the vaccines.
I encourage anyone who may have concerns or simply wants to hear from our public health experts about the COVID-19 vaccines, to join us. I understand that some of our residents are hesitant to take a new vaccine. However, we want to make sure every Prince Georgian understands the promise these vaccines hold for a future free of COVID-19. It is critical that we heed the advice from our public health officials that these vaccines are safe, effective and can prevent the spread of COVID-19, but only if we take them. You can view the webinar discussion on Monday, February 8 at http://bit.ly/FauciPGC.
In addition, I also want to also encourage you to join us for our FY 2022 Budget Listening Session on Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at 6:00 PM. This listening session will provide residents an opportunity to provide their input as we develop our FY 2022 budget. Residents can testify virtually during the listening session, submit written testimony, or simply tune in to learn more about our initial plans for this upcoming budget. To learn more about how to tune in or sign up to testify, please visit http://bit.ly/FY22pgcbudgetsession.
We look forward to seeing you at one or both of these critical events next week.
Yours in service,
Angela Alsobrooks
Prince George’s County Executive
